Test Director - Cloud Migration - 6 month initial Inside IR35 contract - Hybrid (London/Hertfordshire)

Join us to lead a large-scale AWS migration project, overseeing the entire testing lifecycle for the transition of complex application stacks from on-premises data centers to the cloud. In this high-impact role, you'll develop and implement end-to-end testing strategies, emphasizing automation, non-functional testing, and quality assurance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a rigorous QA approach, utilizing industry-standard tools such as Jenkins, BitBucket, Terraform, and JMeter.

  • Testing Strategy Development & Execution:
    Design and lead a comprehensive testing strategy for the AWS migration, focusing on automation, governance, and validation across platforms. Coordinate with business stakeholders and test teams to ensure complete coverage and high-quality standards for functional and non-functional testing.

  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    Act as a liaison across technical teams, promoting collaboration between cloud architecture, product engineering, and project management. Lead the Quality Automation Engineering team to build a culture of ownership and efficiency.

  • Automation Framework Management:
    Enhance testing automation frameworks by refining manual and automated processes and aligning with industry best practices for deployment automation.

  • End-to-End Testing:
    Manage and execute comprehensive manual and automated validation tests, utilizing tools like Jenkins and JMeter to ensure robust testing pipelines and system scalability under load.

  • Non-Functional Testing (NFT) Focus:
    Implement strategies for performance, security, and resilience testing, including disaster recovery and failover, ensuring compliance and system robustness in the AWS environment.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Review testing standards across teams, driving system reliability and streamlined processes through a holistic, quality-centered approach.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Regularly update stakeholders, balancing customer needs with proactive decision-making and risk management.
